Rev. Mr. Stephen McGinnis
I
was born in Morgantown, West Virginia in 1970 and am the eldest of two
brothers and one sister. My father was an Air Force
physician, and as a result we moved around the country (and to the
United Kingdom) quite frequently. I graduated from
Papillion-La Vista High School (Nebraska) in 1988 and the University of
Notre Dame in 1992.
In 1992 I returned to Morgantown as an electrical engineering graduate
student at West Virginia University. I received both an
M.S.E.E. degree, and a Ph.D. from WVU. I remained at WVU as a
Research Assistant Professor until 2003.
In 2003, my years of discernment led me to enter Saint Vincent Seminary
in Latrobe, PA. After four years of formation, I was ordained
to the diaconate for the Diocese of Wheeling-Charleston on May 19,
2007. I received the M.Div. degree from Saint Vincent on May
9, 2008. I will be assigned to Saint Joseph the Worker Parish
in Weirton, WV this summer with Father Dean Borgmeyer.
